diy embellished fascinator

Spread the love

I challenged myself to make diy hair accessories and the first thing that came to mind was to make an embellished fascinator (although I have made an ankara fascinator and a turban headband). The embellished fascinator happens to be my favourite of all. The crystal brooch I used are basic wedding hair comb that I got from Aliexpress including the horse net.

Fascinators are one of the most popular fashion accessories for summer. They are also versatile hair accessories which usually come with bands, clips or combs. I styled mine with a laced peplum blouse and skirt made by LW Couture with fabric from Debs Clothier

What you will need:

  • Fascinator base – I used a packaging box
  • Damask fabric
  • Horse net
  • Embellished bridal brooch
  • Glue
  • Thread and Needle

Step 1

Cut out a base for your fascinator – it could be a circle or a rectangle base – I used a Jumia packaging box for my fascinator base.

Step 2

Cut out two fabric to cover both sides of the fascinator. Place the first fabric one side, tack with needle and thread and iron it flat. Glue the second fabric to the other side, allow to dry and iron it to be flat.

Step 3

Glue the horse net to the fascinator base. Secure it by tacking it with needle and thread. Detach the comb from the embellished brooch, glue it to the fascinator and secure it with by tacking it with needle and thread.
