To be honest, I never thought I would love the headband trend as much as I do. When I first made a turban headband, little did I know I would be making a DIY padded jewelled headband.
I love been able to use leftover supplies to make a diy project. Fell in love with this fabric I saw at my friends house, I could think it would going to look good made into a padded jewelled headband. Not only does it make me feel resourceful it saves me money.
Headband are so glam and can add a sophisticated touch to your hair, all you need is to put them on your head. There are so many hair accessories but the great thing about this padded jewelled headband is how well they work on any hair style.
What you will need to make a diy padded jewelled headband
- Fabric of your choice
- Crystal studs
- Gum stay
- Thread and Needle
Time needed: 15 minutes.
How to make a diy padded jewelled headband
- Step 1
Cut a 44 x 15 inches rectangle piece of fabric. Place 25 x 15 inches gum stay on the fabric with the glue part placed on the wrong side of the fabric.
- Step 2
Iron the gum stay to the fabric, fold inward into half from top to middle, bottom to middle and fold into half. Then tie a knot and play around with it until you get the shape you want.
- Step 3
The flat section of the knot will be bottom, pass the headband through the loop.
- Step 4
Bring both ends of the fabric and tuck under the same loop you passed the headband, leaving the headband in between.
- Step 5
Fold both ends of the headband and tack the ends with thread and needle. Stitch the sides of the headband to form padded sides.
- Step 6
Apply glue on the crystal studs and place on top of the knot as desired.
