Whether for religious observance as a cultural signifier or just simply to hide a bad hair day, the turban is the epitome of do it yourself headpiece.
Cut a rectangle piece of fabric. I always leave a little allowance on the ends in case you need to make the knot bigger.
Tie a knot and play around with it until you get the shape you want.
The flat section will be bottom, this is where you pass through the headband. Leave the long edge open.
Insert the headband through the knot.
Glue the long edge to the headband, wrap around and glue.
To tidy up the ends, cut excess fabric and stitch the end with a thread and needle so the headband is securely firmly.
