The Envoy Hotel – A Staycation in the city of Abuja

Spread the love

Couple of weeks ago, I had to opportunity to go on a staycation at The Envoy hotel courtesy BookingsNigeria. The Envoy hotel is a boutique hotel  managed by Mantis Hotels and Eco Escape a family run collection of award winning, privately owned, five star properties located around the world. They are located at 305 Diplomatic Drive, Adjacent American Embassy, Central Area District, Abuja, Nigeria.

The Envoy Hotel is one of the most stunning hotels I have ever seen in Nigeria. You will know what I am talking about the second you walk in. I love the fact that details were attended to when the structure was built. I was fascinated by a huge chandelier hanging from the last floor. Every floor looked the same but they had a designated wall art each representing a country on each floor.

Facilities In The Envoy Hotel

There are 59 luxury rooms in the Envoy hotel; 50 Luxury suites with inter-leading family rooms and paraplegic friendly suite available. 4 Diplomatic suites, 4 VIP Suites and 1 Presidential suite. We were treated to a warm service from the security, to the handler to the receptionist at the lobby to the waiters at the restaurant. Speaking of restaurants – I had the best prawn salad. We checked into a standard room which was so clean, luxurious and comfortable. The Envoy HotelThe Envoy HotelThe Envoy HotelThe Envoy HotelThe Envoy HotelThe Envoy HotelThe Envoy Hotel

Treated to lunch – for starters, we had pear and pomegranate salad, poached jumbo prawns marie rose, guacamole, seseme grissini. Seared beef fillet pommedaphinios, sautéed village mushrooms, fine beans, parmesan tuille and natural jus as main course. Dessert was Pistachio chocolate brownie and dinner and dinner was Nigeria treausure – Jollof rice.

In the morning, we went back to Larai restaurant to have breakfast. I looked forward to the breakfast buffet during our stay at The Envoy Hotel. They serve both local and international menu with something for every taste. I had Frappuccino, toast bread, baked beans, sausages and poached eggs along with some fruits salad. Vandos Bar

Vandos bar is a modern lounge fully decorated with a touch of the Envoy logo chandelier. After dinner we went to Vandos bar for some cocktails. Later on, I went to the room to have a relaxing bath and went to bed.

Zanzi Bar and Pool

Since it’s a staycation I looked forward to relaxing in their pool. I have always wanted to do a pool shoot and I had the best opportunity to make use of. So I used one stone to kill 2 birds, relaxed in the pool and did a shoot.

The Gym

I had no interest in visiting the gym which is open for 24 hours to guests and members.

I obviously didn’t come to work. For a work staycation, you have available full business services. A business centre, secretarial services, meeting room with audio-visual equipment and video conferencing facilities are also provided.

Other amenities you can enjoy at The Envoy hotel are: 24- hour security, fibre-optic wi-fi, complimentary underground parking, baby sitting dervices, 24 hour concierge, travel and transfer services and many others.
